Hi, I am thinking of moving to the area, can anyone tell me if there are any English speaking churches, social clubs or meeting in the Sanlúcar, Jerez or Santa Maria areas please, any info would be gratefully received

We recently settled in Centro Jerez de la Frontera. We’ve inherited 2 lovely little Spanish armchairs. I would love , either to have them re upholstered or have loose cover made . Has anyone any suggestions as to who I can contact please .

Just a note to recommend a couple of people. We have been looking for property for a few years and decided on Jerez a year ago. I had read some awful horror stories about buying in spain so did a lot of digging on line and tried to plan in advance as much as possible which was one of the reasons for joining this forum.

We exchanged on a property on monday this week  using the spanish lawyer as power of attorney and we complete on Nov 8th. We viewed a property we offered on and within three days the lawyer and agent between them had answered all of our  questions and concerns. We used a spanish firm of lawyers in jerez, all of whom speak excellent english and handle evertything from taxation, private litigation to property sales/purchases. The process has been simple and very straight forward and they have been a pleasure to deal with, efficient and very  helpful. Just in case anyone needs any services they are Konsell Abogados y Asesores, SL in Jerez. The property purchase was done by Antonio Lara. They are also providing our wills immediately after the completion. The other person worth a mention was an estate agent Tony Martinez of Umbra Inmobiliaria in Jerez, I have a contact number if anyone needs it. I am not a fan of estate agents despite being in commercial and domestic property in the UK as my job. But he has been communicative and helpful and quite honestly not what I was expecting. I am staggered so far as to how helpful and efficient they have been making the whole process painless. Thoroughly recommend both of  them. Steve

Can anyone recommend an English speaking Spanish lawyer in the Jerez area to act for me in the purchase of a property. Thanks in advance.

Within a couple of weeks we sill be moving to our new home in Centro Jerez……..  and will need to get our taxes sorted in Spain. Does anyone know of an English speaking tax adviser/ lawyer ??? Or similar that would be able to help us please ?? Although our Spanish lessons will resume once we’re settled , I fear it will be a while before we can deal with this without help . Thank you

Does anyone know of an instructor who has knowledge of aqua mediation and can lead a group. We gave recently installed an inground pool in our campo and would like to use the pool not only for recreation but for therapeutic benefits. 

Any bright ideas?

Good morning everyone. This is my first ever post, so please be gentle with me (ha ha).  My wife and I live up near Cartagena in Murcia.

We have around twelve family members due to come to visit in the autumn. Does anyone know of any Sherry Vineyards that do tours to see the grapes etc, and caters for larger groups.

Any help would be most appreciated.

We drove over from uk in Nov and were lockdown in Seville until the provinces opened . Our uk car has been in a secure lock up in Seville since we arrived. we have not registered it here because the plan was that a UK friend was going to fly over and drive it back. This has not been able to happen owing to Covid restrictions . It’s got the large Thule top box and all necessary EU spares on board.The car had just about everything replaced prior to us leaving the uk, ready for our trip here ( no ferries or flights available, we travelled with our dog !!)it’s in vgc , all necessary paperwork is with us here in Seville. The car is free to a new home,if it can do a good turn to anyone  and you’re able to collect from Seville. Please private message me. Mot is due Oct , no Uk tax or insurance in place .we will soon be moving into our new home in Jerez but have been here too long without registering it here , to take the car with us. Failing anyone wanting her I’d appreciate any help as to how we can scrap her here in Spain .  Many Thanks Brenda 

Hello, I am English, retired and live in a small town in the Sierra de Cadiz and I am the only English person here and although my Spanish is not good, I get by. This is the first time that I have ever joined a forum and I was wondering if there are expats who get together for small social gatherings. It would be so nice to be able to have a conversation in English, meet some new people and maybe share other experiences of living in this part of Spain.
