Putting down roots in Jerez de la Frontera - 6 replies

Bren52 Posted by Bren52 in Introduce yourselves in Jerez de la Frontera on Mon May 31, 2021 12:31pm

Good Morning Everyone,

We are purchasing our forever home in Jerez , after being lockdown in Sevilla for 7 months!! We’re likely to move in by August this year. We would love to know if there are any Spainish Language teachers that would be able to come to our home and teach my husband and I , Spanish ‘conversation. It’s been difficult during the Pandemic in Sevilla and we desperately want to learn. Any hints and tips for settling would also be extremely helpful. Also I do not know if this is an acceptable ask but are there English/ Spanish speakers who would be able to help us change our Padron , Residency and Healthcare details, or be able to advise best way of dealing with these things please.   Many Thanks , have a good day everyone

Kind Regards

Small removals back to UK - 1 replies

ABS02 Posted by ABS02 in Moving to Jerez de la Frontera: tips and advice on Thu Apr 29, 2021 6:20pm

My son has been living in the area for 10 years but is now returning to the UK. He has about 10-12 boxes, a few paintings and a fold-up bicycle but the removal costs seem very high. Can anyone recommend any reliable companies.

Help Needed - Welfare Check Resource - 2 replies

chrisjohns123 Posted by chrisjohns123 in Healthcare and medical advice in Jerez de la Frontera on Mon Jan 18, 2021 3:48pm

Hello, i'm writing from the UK as my family are trying to contact an elderly family member who lives alone in Jerez. He has been non-responsive to calls recently. Some emails in December indicate a medical issue, but since then we haven't heard anything. Due to travel restrictions we obviously can't visit, so I am looking for a resource to make a Welfare Visit to his home address.

The British Consulate say they can't do anything as it's 'Not an Emergency'. My concern is that he's potentially unable to care for himself or feed himself and may be in trouble, all be it not immediate.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

Cat & dog Hotel - 0 replies

Phillicomm Posted by Phillicomm in Animals and pets in Jerez de la Frontera on Sun Jul 26, 2020 10:56pm

I've found a decent cat and dog hotel if anyone ever needs one http://www.losperales.net/ . It's about 3 or 4 Km north of El Puerto and I'm leaving our cat there during our vacations. It's 8€/night for cats (take your own cat food, but they sort out cat litter), there's a communal place for friendly cats or decent sized rooms for loners. The majority of the installation is for dogs, which have their own room and individual gardens, where they can run about, top drawer! 14€/night if you bring your own food, 15€/night if not.

Very friendly staff, a bit tricky to get to, little twisty, turny roads, but no worse than some of the places I've been to.

Sbard00l Posted by Sbard00l in Moving to Jerez de la Frontera: tips and advice on Mon Apr 20, 2020 6:13pm

I have my Visa for the last part of my application process for my residency. What I would like to know is what are or could anyone tell me the tax implications if I can't get to Spain prior to my household goods shipment.

Regards

Hello fellow Expats.

I am reaching out for your ideas. In these dire days, I want to raise funds and yes, there are organisations that are out there but what I am more concerned about is the small charities in our community that I want to help. Any ideas?

The Olive Press are willing to run my story and how the idea came about. I want to share it with you and see where we go with this.

Are you with me?

Horse livery recommendations please - 0 replies

Debbieboyes Posted by Debbieboyes in Animals and pets in Jerez de la Frontera on Mon Mar 16, 2020 9:46pm

Hello,

I’m new here so sorry if this has been asked before. We are hoping to move next year - my husband is probably going to be sponsored in his job. I want to bring my horse with me and I am wondering if there are many liveries in the area. He will be based in Jerez but we will be living in a 30 minute radius. Ideally in looking for a no frills, natural horsemanship type place.

Any recommendations?

Thanks Debbie 😊

Can anyone advise on the contact  number for the national police station for expats applying for resedencia appointments?  And is personal health insurance required to apply?
