I’m relocating to Jerez from The States in spring 2023. Hoping to find a community, however small, of English speaking expats (or natives) who can assist with orientation, tips, and of course friendship! I’m coming with a small dog, so would also appreciate any tips regarding walking, local laws, etc.

Hi Annie Mariah
One of the ladies on this Forum, Brenda can help you with a vet and any dog related info you might need. Her and her husband have a beautful red setter. She has found an excellent vets practice on Santo Domingo near the centre of Jerez. She also lives there all year round. We both used Konsell Abogados on Porvera for all of our legal immigration, house purchasing, tax etc etc as they all speak perfect english and are a really nice bunch of people. Brenda also has a large number of local contacts for various services and repairs. Best of luck with your move. I'm sure that it will be painless, as my house purchase etc was. (I believe Konsell have a number of US clients.)

There's a WhatsApp group comprising of English-speaking immigrants and Spaniards who meet up at least a couple of times a month in Jerez. My wife and I go along often and there's normally about 10 people present.
There's also a Facebook group covering Cádiz, Jerez and El Puerto de Santa María which you might find useful.

Hi Annie,
The FB group is called Expats Cádiz/El Puerto/Jerez. It's a private group so you'll need to request access, but I believe you're already a member. From there you can get access to thee Jerez Meetup WhatsApp group, but I believe you've already been signposted to this by Steve.

Sorry, Gepke, but I don't know.
I'm sure a quick Facebook search will throw up something as there are a lot of immigrants in the Conil area so there's bound to be plenty of groups.

Hi! I will be disembarking a cruise ship at port of Cadiz with five travel trunks and my small service dog. Is there an appropriate taxi service or private hire from Cadiz to Jerez? Thank you! Annie

Morning we are moving to Jerez early next year , it would be good to go to a couple of meetings , could you add me to the whatsapp group i dont do FB .
BTW im English my wife is Swedish and we have been living in Fuengirola for the last 3 years .
