We have recently moved to El Puerto de Santa Maria and need to find the best dog boarding kennels either around El Puerto or Jerez. It needs to be secure and comfortable for our ageing Border Collie. Recommendations would be gratefully received.

Is there a cattery in Medina Sidonia, someone mentioned this to me.  It might be part of a dog and cat complex.  I live in Arcos de la frontera. I

I am looking for someone/a company to come and maintain a swimming pool in Pago del Humo. 

I am looking for them to start as soon as possible and any help would be much appreciated. 

Considering moving from Costa del Sol to Chiclana.  Concerned that with limited Spanish may feel somewhat isolated unless there are places to meet other expats who could offer advice on living in the area.  Any suggestions would be gratefully received, thank you.

In order to obtain residence it seems necessary to have private health insurance. Has anyone any experience of this and/or could they recommend a provider?

My girlfriend and I are thinking of moving to Spain May of next year. I am from the UK she is from The Philippines. We are both in are early 40’s. We want to move  to Spain Cos we love Spanish food Spanish culture hot sunny weather and the beach and I hate the crap unpredictable uk weather but I like the fact I can just pop back to the UK if I need to. I know San Pedro which is just up the road from la Alcaidesa which I have been to lots of times  but I have never been to La Alcaidesa. I just came across this place when an old friend I not Seen for a few year Cos he moved to Spain just updated his Facebook page saying he lived here. 

I just wonder what is the place like to live in all year round and is it laidback and not to busy like San Pedro? Do a few expats live here or is it very Spanish like San Pedro. Is it a ghost town in the winter? I like Gibraltar which I see is not to far away. Also is it easy to get work here? Do you have to speak good Spanish to live here. Is the beach here nice? Is it safe to live here? I hope there are not really any rowdy bars or nightclub here? What is the closest airport to La Alcaidesa? Are there any restaurants or laidback beach bars where you can get a quiet drink and some bbq fish and seafood? Is it easy to rent an apartment here? Is it a big or small place?

I hope someone  can answer my questions and then I can see about taking a look at the place.

Is there a gym in Alcaidesa apart from the beach club or San Roque/ Soto?

Hi!  We are newbie British expats here after twenty years in Thailand, and we are looking for somewhere to rent for the next 3 months to a year or more in or within an hour's drive of Jerez. 3 beds would be great but would certainly consider 2.  A parking space would be a mega help and an outside area of some kind would complete the deal!  We would be happy to pay up to 500 euros per month, and would also be happy to pay something like six months up front for the right place.  Anybody got any ideas, or, better still, anywhere we could call home and be happy with?  Let us know, please, and we will get back to you asap.  Thanks in advance - Linda and Henry.
