Hi,

New to the forum. we will be looking to purchase in Chiclana area in the next year to 18 mths. I am trying to find information on how much property taxes are in chiclana. I understand they are called  Impuesto de Bienes Inmuebles (IBI) in spain? I would be looking at properties around La Barossa / Nova sancti petri.

thanks in advance

Andy

Hi Andy,

IBI taxes are different for every property, as it depends on location, whether urban or rural, and the amount of land and m2 build the property has.

Obviously urban properties have a higher rate than rural. As a guide a property in the urban area of Los Gallos is paying 447 Eur a year.

The house has 112m2 build, with a garage of 16m2 and a pool of 50m2.

I hope this has helped.

Kind regards, Jamal

Hi Jamal,

Thanks for the info, yes that does help a lot. Its much cheaper than where I live in that case. I am British but now live in the US, in a small rural town in Maine. We currently pay $3200 for a 160M2 build, double garage, no pool. We have a decent lot of 400m2 though.

Our purchase would be to get away from the bitter cold winters here in Maine that last 5 months.

Thanks Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, cost of living here is much cheaper that many other countries. That particular house in Los Gallos has a 500m2 plot too.

We have clients/friends from both the USA and Canada, who have moved here for the sunnier climate, and of course the good food and great beaches.

If you need any help with looking for a home, please don´t hesitate to let me know.

Best regards, Jamal

Hi Jamal,

Yes very reasonable for a lot that size.

I am familiar with Chiclana, mainly La Barossa, El colorado areas. My Mum spent 15 years in Spain up until 2008/9, and lived in La Barossa for much of that time. I was in England then, so would visit regularly. I love the area so much so I took my American wife last year to show her. She loved it too, so we have decided to purchase a place as we retire in a couple of years.

Regards Andy
