Putting down roots in Jerez de la Frontera

Good Morning Everyone,

We are purchasing our forever home in Jerez , after being lockdown in Sevilla for 7 months!! We’re likely to move in by August this year. We would love to know if there are any Spainish Language teachers that would be able to come to our home and teach my husband and I , Spanish ‘conversation. It’s been difficult during the Pandemic in Sevilla and we desperately want to learn. Any hints and tips for settling would also be extremely helpful. Also I do not know if this is an acceptable ask but are there English/ Spanish speakers who would be able to help us change our Padron , Residency and Healthcare details, or be able to advise best way of dealing with these things please. Hi Brenda,

You have picked a wonderful community to hang your hat, so many lovely Xpats and locals that are so welcoming. I love Jerez for its compactness, energy and a feeling of being home and not on holiday. I can find out about a Spansh teacher that will come to the house, a friend of mine is taking lessons.

Keep in touch nearer the time and I can refer you to a couple gestor who can help.

Where abouts in Jerez, Hope you don't mind me asking. I'm around if you heed help unpacking. I work as a Live in Carer 2 x2 on off in Malaga, used to go to the UK but now prefer to be local.

We are going to be centro Jerez 11403 , the apartment needs some ‘dirty’ plastering completed before we move in but the rest can wait until we’re in. Not sure how long because of Covid it will take to ship our things from UK , I’m frightened to jinx things by organising shipment until apartment is ours!!! Hopefully we will be able to sign in next couple of weeks, Bren x
