Good evening Folks,
Just joined so hello.Coming over to CdeLaF end August to start property search.
Like everyone we love the beach etc,living presently close to Southport in UK . However keep hearing that it is always windy , unlike the med .
Are these weather predictions a bit over the top or is there an uncomfortable constant breeze .

Evening DD,
My wife and I were in a similar situation 2 years back and also had the same reservations. The strongest winds in the Cadiz regions are the Levantes, and they are well known. Although very strong, they bring warm and dry weather. At times throughout the year the levantes winds are so strong you will find it uncomfortable to leave the house for a few hours (normally they are at their strongest during midday). I personally have only experience this on 2 occasions in 2 years. The bonientes are also strong but never as strong as levantes and commonly bring cooler air with rains. At times throughout the years, these winds can be very welcoming. On average we find the winds very passive. When they happen we are well aware of them and accept them like a rainy day back home. On average the weather along the Costa de luz is far better and moderate than other location along the south coast of Spain.

Many thanks for the prompt reply. Difficult to articulate, but as an example roughly how many windy days would you expect to experience between say early May and late September, which made it uncomfortable to sunbathe on the beach . Very useful info on the illegality element,Thankyou.

We've moved here from the U.S.. The wind is not that bad. People exagerate to keep others a way. There are maybe a couple of days a month when one can find it a little too much. The rest of the time it's great. Always a breeze to cool you down and not as touristy as the med side with all the drunks and crime.

Hope you are well . We have the go-ahead to come out to Chiclana 18.10.2020 and start our search for a property etc . That is if Uncle Boris doesn’t ban something else over here in U.K. .
Given weather norms will it be warm enough for shorts / T shirts in day as we have been selected to film “ place in the Sun “ .

Morning Derek,
Great to hear, im sure a holiday is well deserved.
Although the morning and evening will keep cool (October on wards) and you feel the need to wrap up, however the afternoon sun burns of all the moisture normally giving you a cracking few hours of t shirts and shorts but wrap up again in the evenings as it cools down again.
