Hi Rose,

I wish you luck, but would like to bring you some 'hope'!

I have put one plug-in  (of the ones I quoted in the link), in every room, even utility room as I teally did have a plague of them.  In the reformation of this house the builders stirred them all up.  IT WAS HORRENDOUS.

They have been plugged in for 2 weeks now (they say poss 3 weeks before seeing redults) and I can now say honestly, that I saw 2 at the beginning of this week, but dead and NONE for 2 days now.  From 3 dustpan fulls a day before (& alive!), you can imagine how happy I am.

I have been here nearly 20yrs and have never seen this many before.  Apparently they love the humidity from this excesdive heat this year!   A less smelly and only a short burst required, I found RAID's Cucaracha Spray in a gold ciloured tin (fairky new out), VERY helpful.  They died in a couple of seconds.  I squirted it intovwhere I knew they came out from or "at them"!  In my case the large hole where washing machine water tube is placed in, thise areas that have little covers on the wall. How they squeeze through there Gid only knows!  They were even inside the plugs.  When one was opened, as I saw the antennae of a cucharacha poking out, there were 3 inside - yuk!

Anyway, the plug-ins are not that expensive, I'd put one in every room to be sure. But give them time to work a d that link is the only one I found safe for animals & children too.

Good luck ....

Thanks again Marga,  have got my daughter in law onto them as well as she appears to be almost as bad as your infestation. Take care and hope you are now roach free (:

Hello

I have never lived in Spain but hope to in the near  future. I lived in Thailand for 12 years and they have the same problem with cockroaches, there the locals place large moth balls over any water drain cover ie in your  shower/sinks etc and that did the trick. You leave them in and le...

Thanks for the tip Marti will try get the mother balls. Have been advised to get a certain plug in which sounds good and tested so will do both and fingers crossed xxx

Further to my advice on those cockroaches, for showers etc wire gauze cut in a circle fine enough to let water pass but not let cockroaches in also work, the edges of the gauze can be covered with decorative stones covering half the edge like a half moon to hold it in place. Also check any spaces in and behind your groundbase kitchen units were the varmints could access. Finally when buy a place make sure its far enough away from outside street drains as the roaches love to party and multiply down there.
