Myself and my partner are considering buying a house in Vejer de la Frontera and relocating to live there and run a business (.small guest house /hotel and restaurant) I'm from the UK andy partner is Spanish, from Madrid.

So far we have only taken holidays in the area in the summer, and I'm keen to hear feedback from anyone who knows Vejer in the November - February months and how those months are and how quiet it becomes, as so many properties in the town are summer vacation properties owned by non residents. 

Of course , I would expect it to be much calmer , but does it become completely dead, or is there still some low-level tourism and are there are reasonable amount of permenant residents that ensure that there are things going on through the winter too?

Any experiences and thoughts of the area in the winter months would be really appreciated

Hello, we have found a pet parrot on our roof terrace. It has been injured but is clearly a pet it is very tame. It has been ringed with a really red ring with I think the number 499. Any suggestions welcomed on what we can do with it? Thanks.

Hi, we are an American gay couple (one fluent in Spanish and the other conversant) and will be retiring to the area in 2022 and are looking to buy a property. We like the area but know it as tourist and would like advice about buying in the countryside outside of Vejar de la Frontera. I have seen a number of country houses between Vejar and Medina Sidonia, that look very interesting. We have two large dogs, like growing and canning vegetables and generally like peace and quite, but want to be close enough to get into town for restaurants, social gatherings etc.  Also I am a university professor in the US and will continue working online for several years and will thus need good internet.

Any advice on what life is like rural areas? Advice? Words of caution? Encouragement?

Does anyone know how much a taxi would be from Seville airport to Vejer for five people?

We are arriving at about 9.30 pm on Friday the 23rd July and would prefer not to hire a car but it would need to be a mini bus or similar I guess to fit us in.

Hola, im thinking of moving to Vejer de la Frontera for a couple of years with my 6 year old daughter. Im a spanish speaker but she isnt. Are there any nice forest/montessori/bilingual schools nearby?
