Surf2022 Posted by Surf2022 in Coronavirus discussion in Sanlúcar de Barrameda: Covid-19 news and updates on Sun Feb 20, 2022 1:07pm

Hi,

I am travelling over from England to France next week and then travelling down to Spain. I have all my vaccinations and boosters and NHS online info. I have found Covid information for ferry to France, but for Spain I can only locate information if flying or coming over by ferry from the UK straight to Spain.

Does anyone have an6 experience or advice regarding this please.

Thank you.

Who supplies the fastest, most stable internet service in Chipiona? - 1 replies

mikeymd Posted by mikeymd in Broadband Internet, Wifi, Phone and TV in Sanlúcar de Barrameda on Sun Apr 4, 2021 10:48am

I’m about to complete on a house in Chipiona and will be looking for a fast, stable internet connection. Can you please give me your recommendations. I’m currently using Pepephone for both house and mobile but whilst their mobile service has been fine, the internet in the house has been nothing short of shocking, to the point of being a waste of time. Many thanks. Mike

Musicians and live music! - 0 replies

mikeymd Posted by mikeymd in Things to do and places to go in Sanlúcar de Barrameda on Fri Apr 2, 2021 10:16am

Hi all and a happy Easter!

I moved to Chipiona last September and am about to buy a house here and despite the restrictions I need to consider how to survive long term. I’m a percussionist firstly but a capable pianist on the jazz/salsa/musicals side of things, a graduate of the Royal Northern College of  Music. For over thirty years I’ve done the rounds of orchestras (Halle, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra amongst others), shows (Les Miserables, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Joseph, Fame, Oliver...all on tour; The Lion King in the west end as percussionist, conductor and rehearsal pianist), numerous jazz, salsa and Latin jazz gigs as pianist, arranger and musical director, classical contemporary music festivals as a marimba soloist/duettist, am very involved in the running of th3 National Concert Band Festival in th3 U.K. and for eight years was the Director of Percussion Studies and Big Band at Canterbury Christ Church University.

So what now. Obviously there is next to nothing going on at the moment but as a newbie, what sort of live music, whether in venues, concert halls or within the community, goes on around here. I’m not looking for offers of gigs or teaching (although feel free to make them), I am looking to see what has gone before in order to work out what might come next. I have basic conversational Spanish which is improving and I love the deep end.

All suggestions are welcomed,

Kind regards,

Mike

I have been looking for information on relocating with Covid still out there.  We are not planning on leaving until July which i would hope that it is over.  Yet, as a precaution,  are they still issuing long term visas? Thanks for any help!

Hi - can anybody recommend a 'free serve' satellite dish package (supplier?) for Sanlucar de Barrameda that could cover the basic BBC Channels and other basic national European channels i.e. Spanish, French etc..

Since I have had a package through SKY in the UK it has touched all the bases but nor sure about the Costa de la Luz with reception etc.. Thanks, Andy Husain

Bren52 Posted by Bren52 in Recommended Tradesmen and Companies in Sanlúcar de Barrameda on Sun Sep 20, 2020 12:51pm

Good afternoon ,

This is my first day as a member. Me, my husband and dog are looking to retire to sanlucar imminently. Our English house is sold and soon we will be homeless here and on our way. Please would someone advise as to an English speaking lawyer we can contact when we arrive. Prior to Brexit we intended to rent and take our time , but time is now of the essence as post Brexit will be too late for us , under the new rules. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We will still rent before buying , so if anyone knows off rental properties that accept pets , that would also be very helpful . Thank you .

Poste2sarah Posted by Poste2sarah in Jobs and careers in Sanlúcar de Barrameda on Mon Jun 1, 2020 12:14pm

Hi all

I am hoping to move to Costa de Luz (Sanlúcar) area with my partner and two pet dogs in July/August and am looking for some part time work.

I have a First Class B.A (Hons) in Education and I am also CELTA qualified with 10 plus years of experience in teaching English in S.E Asia. Currently in the U.K. and hoping to make the move ASAP!

Although I am qualified to teach, I would be happy to consider all types of part time or possibly full time work ( looking for a good life/work balance!)
