Hi, move to Spain 3 years ago, at the moment I’m living in Costa del Sol but I have encountered some anti racial issues here.

We are thinking on moving to the Cadiz area, can someone give any thoughts about this issue?

Best regards

Such a shame reading your post. We retired here over 20 yrs ago and have never had any issues. We find the people accepting, lovely and full of joy! We lived in a rural neighbourhood just outside Jerez and were immediately accepted. We live in Ubrique now and the same here, everyone lives in harmony. We loved Jerez but its getting busy with tourists so we escaped to the mountains for peace and tranquility.I guess in bigger cities one can come across issues and protests against tourists taking over the locals space and price hikes when it comes to rental properties. Good luck in your search.

If you're concerned about an issue serious as this, I would suggest you "try before you buy", that's to say come and visit the area, decide where you'd want to live and rent somewhere there for a while to find out for yourself.

We live in a small town here and have never sensed any obvious negativity around being English, but wouldn't be able to advise on any experience of overt racism.

Sorry not to be able to help.
