Hi,

I´m an American married to a Spaniard, and we lived in Seville for 30 years. We are in the States now, but I hope to be retiring soon and am considering making our home in Sanlucar. It has lots of attractive points: mild winters, nearby beaches, smallish city but not too small...plus manzanilla & langostinos!

My wife is not so sure. She grew up in Valencia and our married life has been in Seville. She likes city life and is afraid of living in a backwater. It isn´t cultural hustle and bustle she craves- just nice places to shop and a certain amount of anonymity, as opposed to living in a village where everybody knows everybody and their business. Hopefully she will succumb to the charm of Sanlucar and welcome the idea of change.

Sanlucar is close enough to Sevilla and Cádiz if in need for some bigger city air, but It is just so wonderful here, you don’t have much need to do so. A wonderful leisurely pace of life and people are so friendly.
