...very accepting of visitors and foreignors - especially if you speak some Spanish. There are some very nice restaurants in the town and scattered around the area as well. Some newer ones are trying a more contemporay cuisine rather than a very traditional menu which is interesting. I would suggest you need a car if you want to live in Arcos but I have no idea what the bus service is like. Arcos is an hour or less from just about everything you would want to be close to - the mountains, the great Costa de la Luz beaches, Seville, Cadiz, Gibraltar and more.

From a work perspective, you might struggle with a lot of peace because Arcos does have plenty of hustle & bustle about it. If you live in a quieter area you should be fine. I often work from home and the internet is very good in my village.

...ing. The local village is lively but not too big nor too crowded yet you can find some good food. It’s just 30,000 in total so a small community of expats. We are about 5 km from old town and have a quiet and inspirational view for writing and being creative. I agree it helps to know some Spanish. Please let me know if you have other questions.

...es, 54 cents) and Cadiz (three a day, fifty-five minutes 2.20 euros) are excellent. There’s even a direct bus to Seville (8 euros) and to Malaga and great bus and train connections from Jerez. There are eleven restaurants/bars in the old town and there’s always something going on, but you will not have a problem with noise if you are not on the main street. The architecture is fabulous, albeit with a certain faded grandeur (like Venice), and the main Basilica square is now being pedestrianised to make it even more attractive. Arcos is also incredibly cheap for houses (starting from 30,000) and everything in general compared to Jerez, Cadiz and Seville. Hope to see you here!
