Tax on UK pension

Hi i hope someone can advise me. I'm planning to move to Cadiz next week and will be applying for residency so i can stay for more than 6 months and hopefully buy a place - i'll be renting to start with. I'm 60 years old and have an NHS pension

If i stay for more than 6 months and have residency status how does this affect my UK pension and tax if i'm in Spain with residency status? Do i have to transfer my pension and pay tax in Spain.

I hope someone can help me on this.

Hi, my understanding is to pay tax on your pension in Spain. If u r resident here you complete a form for UK inland revenue which means you do not pay tax in UK also. I am still trying to find out if you just pay tax on the part of pension u have accessed as opposed to whole fund. If you find out please let me know!

You pay tax in Spain on your UK State Pension. I can put you in touch with the firm who organise it remotely for me, they are in Alicante but do everything by e mail.

You don't count the UK State Pension towards your UK Tax liability.

I pay about 800 euros a year. It's good to have the proof of tax residency when in due course you apply for Permanent Residence after 5 years.
