Hi everyone, my name is Mandy and I live in Algar a very small village not far from Arcos. I've lived in Spain on and off for a number of years, love the climate and outdoor living. I enjoy gardening, the gym, improving my Spanish and more. I only know Arcos for the shopping and the occasional tourist day out. It would be great to hear from anyone in the area who fancies a chat. I'm not too far from you. We live in Ubrique, moved from Jerez a year now. I just love it here, gorgeous mountain views, picturesque white village and lots of good energy. It's a walkers haven and ofcouse the famous Roman Ruin, Ocuri and leather factories.
Let's keep in touch and perhaps meet in Ubrique. We are renting a property that was once a disco, now converted into 3 independent apartments and lots of outdoor space. We have one apartment we keep for visitors. You are more than welcome to come and stay.

Thanks for your reply. I'd love to meet you in Ubrique, it's a beautiful place. I've visited few times but don't know it well.
I live in the campo, 1km outside of Algar. It's one of the tiniest white villages on the ruta, a bit off the beaten track. It used to have a couple of leather factories, now the population has dwindled, shops and bars have closed. It's a very friendly place, all are welcome, it often feels like a giant, extended family!

Hi there Mandy and all you wonderful people who responded yo Mandy. . I just wish to say you have all made my day... I am seriously working on a project of moving to the Area but my preference is definitely a village or hamlet set up. So am glad to know that there are some around Arcos where one can have a Green outdoor space. I am looking to pay a visit soon and would love to contact you guys for more information on the area if I may please. By the way Lesley are there short term holiday rentals in the surrounding villages to Arcos please.

Hi Elizabeth and Mandy.
Actually, I am looking to rent out the one self contained apartment in our lovely Ubrique. For its size Ubrique is a very lively village and so close to other areas like El Bosque, Benaocaz, Rhonda etc.
Where I live is definately not isolate, we have walkers passing by every day on their morning walks and the occasional horses. The view from our property is stunning.
There is something about the universe and timing. My partner is in hospital Jerez in critical condition and I have been travelling back and forth visiting. I have three cats and an extensive area with plants and a pool to take care of. I was thinking of finding someone who could help me through this time to keep an eye on the place should I stay overnight in Jerez.
Could you both meet? Tomorrow?
Arcos is about half an hour from Ubrique. I could meet you half way and lead the way.
