Hi.All can anyone tell me what the equivalent is to the UK car tax and MOT in Spain.

also on my last visit to Spain I noticed every building had bars on the windows and doors is this to do with the crime rate or is there another reason hoping to spend 3 or 4 months in  Arcos de la Frontera when travel restrictions allow

Hello,

If you have a Spanish registered car you will be contacted by the specific office regarding car tax which should be paid annually. There is no tax disc here. The ITV office will contact you regarding getting an appointment for your ITV (similar to an MOT). There are ITV centres in Jerez and Villamartin.

The bars on ground floor windows is a cultural and historic thing rather than due to crime. There is very little serious crime in Arcos. I have been here for 17 years and very rarely witnessed or read about any of the types of things that are fairly common in the UK.
